Abeille
France

Abeille 30 previously named Abeille 10 (former US Army tug LT 538) photo taken in 1972 after a major refit. After 1993 she was sold to a Spanish owner intending to use the tug for towing ships from the US to Spain for scrapping. Renamed Biscaya 30 she sank shortly after in the Mississippi river, a few tens of miles away from the place she had been built (Livingston Shipbuilding Orange, Texas) in 1944. The cause of the sinking was due to an engine breakdown, and she was rammed by her tow (Master Pedros). She was latter raised ans scrapped at Venice in 1985. (Contributed by Roland Grard)
