ARA GUARANI (former US Army LT-817) As a new arrival in Rio Santiago Naval Base, Buenos Aires in the late 1940's. Note: Ship was lost with all hands in 1956 in a storm while supporting an Antartic flight near Cape Horn. Only an oil spill was found near the area after days of search effort (Submitted by Ignacio Amendolara).
